Webfocus Report Developer
The Report Developer will work independently within a deadline-oriented team environment using database, data warehouse, and other technical applications to identify error trends in client data, comparing samples using statistical analysis and proposing automated solutions to clean all data used/needed in the administration of programs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Formulate and define report scope, objectives and configuration tasks
- Write clear, concise, conclusive documentation
- Experience with interviewing business SMEs and capturing requirements
- Provide technical assistance on multiple projects (multi-tasking)
- Provide input into and support the design process, working with Technical Leads and Data Modelers Reviews and/or may participate in the development of test plans, cases and test data
- Maintain a positive working relationship with development, business, support, QA and project management teams
- Communicate project status and escalate blocking factors to appropriate levels of management. Help anticipate and resolve issues before they adversely affect the project and/or relationships
- Meet deliverables in a timely manner while delivering high-quality design, documentation and analysis that meets our partners’ requirements
- Communicate consistently and effectively with all partners. Monitor deliverables of all partners and notify them in a timely manner of any issues that may affect them
- Undertake analysis of production issues with data and communicate status and resolution effectively
Qualifications
- 6+ years of related report development/data analysis experience
- Strong SQL experience preferably with Oracle Data Base
- Familiarity with ETL tools, preferably Informatica – nice to have but not a necessity
- Report Development experience with IBI Web FOCUS or Business Objects
- HTML and Java Script knowledge
- Strong understanding of technology and its implementation to solve business problems
- General knowledge of Conceptual Data Models and Domain Modeling
- Experience with advanced analysis methodologies (data flow diagrams, case tool analysis, work & process flow diagrams, cost/benefit analysis) strongly preferred
- Experience with Business Use Cases
- Proven experience executing at both the macro (strategic) and micro (tactical) levels
- Ability to perform independent technical analysis on complex projects and able to trouble-shoot a variety of problems with serious business impact
- Strong written and oral communication skills along with an attention to detail
- College degree preferred or equivalent work experience
